Scores of colorful backpacks, character-laden lunch boxes and freshly sharpened Number 2’s on store shelves herald none other than the start of the season that is met unequivocally with resigned excitement by kids and relieved enthusiasm by parents: Back to School
But while parents of school age children are scurrying around scooping up pencil cases and Crayolas, and frantically reminding children to start doing the reading they were supposed to have done over break, there is another set of parents, those of younger kids, who are equally as busy, but not in an educational capacity. They are planning to take to the skies, or the road, to squeeze in one last trip before the winter weather sets in.
The great thing about traveling at this time is year is purely that no one else is. Most everyone else is in the throes of organizing their children for entering their next grade level; rarely will a family forgo those first important weeks of classroom bonding, even for an unbelievable last minute travel deal.
So, while other parents are indulging in a celebratory mimosa as they watch their backpack-hauling offspring march of to a new season of academia, you can your family can be embanking on a new excursion, made even sweeter by the off season deals you are bound to procure.
Happy Fall Travels!
